Privacy policy

Qesture is made by Qeepl, Inc., a Delaware corporation in the USA. This policy covers the Qesture app, the license service that issues your keys, and the qesture.com website.

Summary

Qesture has no analytics and no tracking. The app doesn't send us information about how you use it, and neither does this website. We collect only what we need to sell you a license and to make it work.

The app

Qesture keeps your license key, your license token and the start date of your trial in the macOS Keychain on your Mac. When you activate or refresh your license, the app talks to the license service described below.

The license service

When you buy Qesture, and when you activate or check a license, the license service stores:

• your email address, which is the address you paid with;
• your license key;
• the Stripe payment reference for your purchase;
• for each Mac you activate, an anonymous machine ID, the Mac's name and the version of Qesture. The machine ID is a hash derived from the Mac's hardware identifier. It isn't the serial number, and it can't be used to identify the hardware;
• when each activated Mac last checked its license.

To stop abuse, the forms for resending keys and leaving reviews count requests from each IP address, and resent emails to each address, for one hour. Expired counts are deleted every day.

Payments

Link, Stripe's checkout, is the merchant of record for Qesture purchases, so Stripe and Link process your payment details, billing address and receipts under their own privacy policies (Stripe and Link). We never see your full card number. From Stripe we receive your email address and a payment reference, which the license service stores as listed above.

Email and hosting

Resend sends your license emails. Cloudflare hosts this website and the license service.

Crash reports

Qesture never sends a crash report on its own. If the app quits unexpectedly, the next launch asks whether to email the crash report to help fix it. The report opens in your email client addressed to contact@qeepl.com so you can review it before sending. Nothing is sent automatically; the report goes only if you send the email yourself.

Reviews

About two weeks after you buy, we email you once to ask for a review, with a personal link. The app's License page can open the same link.

If you leave a review:

• we store your name, what you do (if you filled it in), the rating, the text and the date;
• we show them publicly on qesture.com;
• the link works once;
• write to contact@qeepl.com to change or remove your review.

Your choices

To ask what we hold about your purchase, or to ask us to delete it, write to contact@qeepl.com. We may keep records that we're required to keep for tax and payment purposes. You can ask Link to delete the data it holds about your purchases through Link support; that is separate from asking us.
